Hello!

What is going on at The Herbalist? This past summer many of you helped us with the survey we sent out giving us feedback on what you liked and did not like about our web-site. After evaluating all the comments and feed back we decided to completely revamp the site to make it much more user friendly for shopping while still giving you as much information as possible to make health choices. There will be a new shopping cart and new categories.

In the process of compiling all the new information I received a certified letter from the FDA about the “drug claims” on the site such as “relieves sinus infections”. I rewrote all of our product descriptions being careful to not make drug claims but to clearly explain the beneficial qualities of our products.

We hope to debut the newly remodeled site by the first of 2006. Also you will notice a slight price increase on our products. There will be greater savings now when you buy larger sizes. The new prices will take effect January 1st 2006.

There is also a new addition to my family and a new mascot for The Herbalist. In September I saw a chocolate lab puppy at a friend’s wedding. I got the phone number of the breeder and called the next day. The breeder started e-mailing me pictures of her puppies and I had to have one. Puppy photo. Of course, everyone who lives in the world of reality told me “Tierney, you don’t have time for that!” After listening to what everyone said, I disregarded their advice and got one anyway. “Dutch” is his name and I just adore him. He joins my yellow lab Lily as part of our 4-legged family. Of course everyone was right! I was so sleep deprived the first month. He aged me at first but now he’s is keeping Lily and I younger. We are up at the crack of dawn and go on 5 walks a day. He puts a smile on my face every time I look at him.

Do It Yourself Herbal Gifts at
The Herbalist Store!

We are having a DIY holiday here at The Herbalist. Some of you may ask (like I did) what is DIY? It is “Do It Yourself.” Using many of the herbs, essential oils, and other ingredients we offer at The Herbalist, we have put together DIY kits that contain a recipe and all the ingredients to make gifts for your friends and family.

We spent many hours perfecting the recipes. (In cooking, I am the type of person who never follows a recipe because I never seem to have all the ingredients. We have catered these kits to meet the needs for someone like me). It takes less than half an hour to put each recipe together plus you are giving a little of yourself with each gift. Each kit is creatively packaged to give as a gift or use for yourself.

Our DIY kits include everything you need including containers and stylish labels.
